Every AfroSynergy trade consortium is assembled from this closed vocabulary. Six categories ordered by execution phase — trade compliance, standards, finance, legal, operations, market entry — chosen because together they cover the 80% of cross-border African trade execution we underwrite. New specializations require a code review proposal and a migration, never an inline edit.
Why a closed vocabulary
A trade consortium isn't a freeform list of helpful people. It's a typed graph of specialists whose deliverables unblock each other in sequence. To compose that graph reliably across thousands of opportunities, we lock the vocabulary.
Every specialization here ships in our migration history — adding or renaming one requires a database migration, not an inline edit. Without that discipline, two content authors would inevitably write "AfCFTA Compliance Advisor" and "AfCFTA RoO Specialist" for the same role — and our matching algorithm would silently miss half its candidates.
Closed
Validation at the database layer. Free-form text rejected.
Governed
New rows require code review and a numbered migration.
Versioned
Every revision shipped in source control, auditable end-to-end.
Category I
The eligibility-framework bridge — turns AfCFTA, AGOA, EU, China FOCAC, India DFQF, and GCC preferential schemes into shipped containers.

Category II
The gating layer. HACCP, FDA, CE, GlobalG.A.P., halal, ISO — the rules that decide what crosses the border before tariffs even apply.

Category III
Working capital, FX risk, tax-treaty optimization, diaspora SPVs — the structuring work that makes the trade economically viable.

Category IV
Counsel on M&A, JVs, local company law, IP, public procurement, PPP transactions — the durable contractual scaffolding.

Category V
Customs brokerage, cold chain, pre-shipment inspection, credit/political risk insurance — the mechanics of moving goods through ports.

Category VI
Channel partner identification, ESG/EUDR reporting, local-content compliance — the distribution and regulatory layers that close the loop.

Governance
The vocabulary above is published as a versioned spec in our source tree. Every cost range, every typical-engagement window, every governing-body attribution is reviewable in the same place engineers ship code.
Revisions land via code review. Decisions are recorded. No silent edits, no drift across documents — the kind of discipline procurement officers, general counsels, and institutional investors recognize on sight.
