Full-Stack Engineer — African Fintech Scale-Up (Remote)

Requirement

A Series B Nigerian fintech running lending and payments is scaling across West Africa and hiring senior full-stack engineers. The stack is Node.js, React and PostgreSQL, and the problems are the ones that come with money moving at volume: idempotency on payment flows, ledger correctness, reconciliation, and latency budgets that hold when a partner bank's API does not. This is a remote-first role with a strong preference for African candidates — not as a cost position, but because the company is deliberately building a distributed engineering organisation rooted on the continent, and proximity to the markets the product serves is treated as an engineering advantage rather than a logistical inconvenience. Senior means owning a domain end to end: schema design, API contracts, deployment and the on-call consequences of your own decisions. Candidates should be comfortable in a codebase that has grown fast and carries the debt that implies, and interested in paying some of it down rather than only shipping features on top. Compensation is $3,500-$7,000 monthly plus equity. Hiring is urgent against the West African expansion timeline.
